    I PAID THE BEER

    Don't say:

I paid the beer. It's incorrect.

You pay FOR an object/item/article or FOR a service in general.

But when you refer to the person to whom you give the money you mustn't put FOR.

Look: I paid the waiter FOR the beers

    Don't say:

I matriculated at a language school

    Say:

I ENROLED at a language school

To matriculate means the same as to enrol but nobody uses it except the Pope and maybe a few cardinales

    Seeya soon

    MARRIED TO vs MARRIED WITH

Well it's no contest really. These two concepts are too different to compare.

Dont say: John is married with Mary if you mean that John and Mary are husband and wife. Many people make this mistake because they translate directly from their own language.

You must say: John is married TO Mary

Now, if you want to say:

John is married with three children,

    well that's another story.

Seeya and have a really nice day,

    TR
